What is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a specialized therapeutic approach designed to help people process and heal from traumatic experiences. This evidence-based therapy uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, or body tapping, to help the brain process distressing memories and reduce their emotional impact/symptoms. EMDR therapy is effective in addressing a wide range of issues, including trauma, anxiety, and PTSD, and behavioural challenges. By working through these experiences in a safe and supportive environment, children and teens can build resilience, improve their emotional well-being, and move forward with a renewed sense of strength and confidence.
